Richard Braxton is a photographer and outdoors enthusiast living in Portland, OR.
Born in Chicago, IL, Richard graduated from Southern Methodist University with a dual degree in Geology and Creative Computing. Along the way, he worked as a freelance photographer, taught himself to play the pipe organ, and became the universitys first self taught student to perform a solo recital.
Post-college, he moved to the pacific northwest to work as a geologist at the U.S. Geological Survey’s Cascades Volcano Observatory. Seeking higher paychecks to counteract Portland’s increasing rent, he transferred into full time software development.
Richard is currently working to hike through and experience every US National Park before the age of 30. So far he’s been to 41/62.
